   简单来说，Mathcore 是节奏更复杂更极端的metalcore .(有人也叫technical metalcore 或者是progressive metalcore). 看到mathcore很自然会想到math rock，他们的拍子都是异乎寻常的变化，难怪两个都有math，原来在音乐方面某些方面是共通的。虽然mathcore一般都和极端金属和碾核联系比较紧，然而一些math rock乐队，例如Slint, Don Caballero, Shellac, 和Drive Like Jehu都对mathcore的产生有很大的影响

   最早期的mathcore可以追溯到Black flag。特别是在《my war》，突然就出现在歌曲中间。“那几分钟的混乱金属段子真叫人受不了”。很多人还不明白什么回事，其实他们已经一只脚踏到mathcore里去了。很多mathcore乐团都是在black flag中的mathcore氛围中得到启发

Mathcore真正是在90年代开始成型，是mathrock的一个分支。它其实就是math rock加hardcore组成的混合词，所以也可以在名字中领略一点这种风格的意味。最早期的mathcore band，其实是一些耳熟能详的hardcore band，例如Rorschach,Starkweather和Ccnverge等等。接着就越来越mathcore的乐队涌现，例如mathcore的3C（Cave in, Cable, Coalesce）。最有名的算是The Dillinger Escape Plan。他们一直被认为是mathcore的鼻祖。以前他们一直被认为是noisecore + hardcore techno + grindcore。

   21世纪初，又有许多新的mathcore乐队出现了，虽然他们通常不会被称作mathcore乐队，但是他们都受mathcore先驱的影响，并且经常拿他们来相互比较。这些乐队都很熟悉，例如Norma Jean，The Locust,Daughters, Some Girls, Fear before the March of Flames，The Number等等。

 

DAUGHTERS是美国罗德岛州普罗维登斯的五人乐队。很多人都觉得DAUGHTERS是Grindcore,可是从他们音乐中的新英伦硬核和噪音氛围来看，显然是贴错标签了。事实上，DAUGHTERS是通过呈现一些独树一帜的的金属段子，去塑造出一种新型的痉挛式的音乐对抗！对抗那些单凭满足听众快感而被抬举的一般金属音乐以展现他们创造性的音乐抱负。（比一般的noise grind还病态）。他们的最近期的作品，（06年的《Hell songs》）是乐队的一个重要的里程碑。他们03年的唱片《Canada Songs》，混乱、强烈、有血有肉的编排、堕落败坏的歌词和撕心裂肺的吼声，为《Hell songs》打下了坚实的基础。PopMatters形容这是“06年极端乐队中最引人注目的风格进化，我们可以从《Hell songs》中极大地体会到这个才华出众的乐队所能达到的极致。”

DAUGHTERS are a five-piece musical fistfight from Providence, Rhode Island. Bastard children of the New England hardcore and noise scenes, DAUGHTERS frequently get mislabeled as a grindcore band. In truth, DAUGHTERS present a new kind of spastic musical confrontation that exposes narrow-minded metal-by-numbers for what it is (boring) much to the satisfaction of fans that recognize and appreciate creative musical ambition. Their latest release, 2006’s Hell Songs marks a significant artistic progression for the band, building upon the chaotic intensity of 2003’s Canada Songs with fleshed out arrangements and debauched lyrics delivered in desperate yowl. PopMatters described it as “The most dramatic stylistic shift by an extreme band in 2006, Hell Songs is a mere glimpse of what this immensely talented band is capable of.”

DAUGHTERS thrive on presenting a memorable live experience. Their shows are explosions of precise intensity served as a platform for frontman Alexis Marshall’s particularly personal brand of connecting with the audience. Tera Melos is a three - piece band from Roseville, California consisting of Nick Reinhart (guitars, programming, vocals), Nathan Latona (bass) and newest member John Clardy (drums) Incorporating experimental rock, ambient electronics and unconventional song structure all in one to create their original brand of music characterized by their quickly alternating time signatures, start-stop dynamics, two-handed tapping, extended open-ended bridges, and the use of effect pedals and samplers. Tera Melos has 4 releases to date, including their most recent EP called Idioms Vol I, a 5 song covers album clocking in at under 9 minutes that the band has made a free download. Complex Full of Phantoms a full length split with By the End of Tonight released in 2007, on Temporary Residence. Drugs to the Dear Youth, a 5 Song EP all instrumental album released in 2007 on Sargent House. Their debut LP which is untitled was also re-issued in 2008 by Sargent House.

Is a music company that manages bands and puts out records. We also have a Music Video Production Company called Refused TV and publicity company called Solid PR. Cathy Pellow also manages Omar Rodriguez Lopez Productions. NO, that does not mean we manage The Mars Volta. We are a full service nurturing group of people, crazy enough to enjoy handling all facets of artists careers. We do everything except make the tunes or book tours. Thank god for booking agents! We are not into fads, we are into real bands, made up of musicians who don't use auto tune, and most of all are unique and not trying to sound like someone else. We work with bands focused on having a career for the long term and not those just looking to break with a 'hit single' The music business is changing, the only ones left standing will be the ones who loved music in the first place. So farewell to all in it for the 'fast buck', your day has come. The People have spoken and their revolution is not on your radio or television it is in the choices they now have at their disposal. It is survival of the fittest, may great music win.

  与在珠海相比，在广州的生活丰富了许多。有各式各样的展览，演出，活动。信息爆炸，应接不暇。我到底为何要感知？不停地听，不停地看，却发现离自己越来越远。说得明白点就是装B——没有方向地接触轰炸式的信息，没有思考，没有判断，没有评价。在喧闹中，人云亦云，离开了自我。

  失去了判断力，在别人的评价中一头雾水，却不敢说出自己内心的看法。不断地揣摩别人，又不断否定自己。这是一个旋涡式的恶性循环，晕头转向，迷失，最后掉进自卑的无底洞，浪费生命，一无所获。

  想到这里，让我想起上次和无力见面。无力皮肤白皙，没什么脚毛，斯斯文文的，说话的时候特别多小动作。他说，形成自己的观念是最难的，需要判断力和积累。这种积累，是建立在对历史的了解和不断的思考之上。一个人的直觉再好，都超越不了有历史做基奠的眼光。跳跃需要过程，要坦率去承认面对自己的层次，而不是对超越自己层次的东西，强迫自己去想个究竟。应该做的，是在自己的层次上不断地思考，更加深入了解自己的sense和 desire，并且可以防止别人的思想介入。不用去看很多书，大需要大量的思考，大胆地，理智地去承认心中的好与不好。接受对权威的否认，我们在感知上都拥有否决权。

  我觉得，现在的设计人有两种，一种是等待自我艺术观念成熟后再去创作；一种是在不断地创作中形成自己的艺术观念。有设想的人总是会不断地保护自己。保护自己有很多办法，而无力选择暂时的喘息。

  三年展也好，艺术也好，都是自圆其说而已。也许那些在美术馆里嬉笑玩闹的小孩，才是离艺术最近的。
